Dutch's Schofield
DISCLAIMER: THIS IS A FAKE PROP USED SOLELY FOR COSPLAY/DISPLAY PURPOSES. It is a perfectly safe replica.
'this is a choice, this is the point of no return'
One of the very first prop revolvers I ever made was this replica inspired by the character of Dutch Van Der Linde from Red Dead Redemption 2. He has two Schofield revolvers that are black steel with gold detailing and a white grip handle. I have replicated that design here but I have chosen to add extra details such as words and an image.
'Point of No Return' refers to the fact that every chapter ends with a mission/job set by him, often dragging the other characters, including the player, further into trouble. After two failed jobs, the character begins to descend into madness and no longer trusts anybody. These two missions/jobs could well be seen as 'the point of no return' but it is speculated within the fanbase that the point of no return was before the game itself takes place.
Another one of my favourite musicals is Phantom of the Opera, and a track features in it called Point of No Return. Many lyrics in this song reminded me of the events of the game and so informed my artistic choices for this prop.
To make the prop look more realistic and interesting I added weathering on places that would get the most wear/damage.
DIMENSIONS:
FRAME: 6.5 inches
BARREL: 6 inches
THICKNESS: 2cm
